We have configured these units to boot from either the internal NAND or from one of our SD cards. Again we have configured the plug to boot Debian Squeeze 6.0 from a UBIFS file system on the internal NAND, boot time around 25 seconds.
The unit also boots from one of the SD card configs below, offering you a choice of operating systems, and offers at least two very enticing advantages: that of additional storage and the potential to prepare a collection of SD cards with different applications.
Connection to the home network is via Gigabit Ethernet, and offers desktop class performance, and can be used to replace a PC-based home server for many applications. Needless to say, very low power usage, extremely small foot print, and very low cost of ownership make this Plug Computer an attractive option for businesses of any size, hobbyists and professionals alike.
