Hi,

I bought my SheevaPlug last February and it has function very well up yo now.
But the other day I could no longer contact the Plug with SSH, nether could I ping it. it seams that the network interface was dead. I have tried to connect the Plug direct with the USB serial port, but when I connect the Plug to my computer, with Ubuntu 10.04 installed, I can't see the Plug with lsusb, nor can't I see the devices /dev/ttyUSBx. I tried to modprobe ftdi_sio vendor=0x9e88 product=0x9e8f but without luck.
I do believe this a hardware problem, but I'm not sure, for this reason I have posted the problem on this forum. Is there some way to understand the state of the plug and contact it. The green LED on the top of the plug is on together with the two network LEDs.

If you can't find any way to communicate with the plug, perhaps it is a power supply problem. (Although usually when this happens there are indications in terms of the lights).

You can contact jason@newit.co.uk to discuss options.
