eSata vs Usb - Some Performance figures

I have done a benchmark of eSata Vs USB Drive performance for those who are interested.

This test was done using the same WD20EARS drive for both Usb and eSata.

The test plug was a NewIT Black A0 eSata using Debian Squeeze Disk Utility.

USB
Avg Read Rate 34.3Mb/s
Avg Access Time 21.4ms

eSata
Avg Read Rate 84.6Mb/s
Avg Access Time 20.7ms

I did a similar test a while ago, I tested how fast it would md5 hash a drive, and work out the throughput.
Which I got 75 m/s Esata and 27 m/s usb, but the fun was doing the same test on a drive formatted ntfs ... Very very slow , and about 2 to 3 m/s
