For the SD card to work, you only need to change the environment variables. Don't forget to save them after you change them with saveenv.

Really Huh?

I know that most of eSATA plug were sold with uboot 3.4.16 which do not reconize at all the SD reader....

To isolate this, after typing "version" to be sure it is a 3.4.16 (Mar 19 2009) uboot, type "help" and just see if "mmcinit" command exists !

If this command is not present, the only way is to upgrade uboot.

Thank you Marcus!

I gave it another try and managed to copy the kernel.
This is where I am at the moment:

-U-Boot 1.1.4 (Jul 14 2009 - 06:46:57) Marvell version: 3.4.16

-Booting from SD-card with kernel 2.6.34  Cheesy

-ide reset:

Reset IDE:
Marvell Serial ATA Adapter
Integrated Sata device found
Port Multiplier found @ 0 1. Vendor: 1095 ports: 3
[0 1 0]: Enable DMA mode
  Device 1 @ 0 1 0:
Model: SAMSUNG HD103UJ                          Firm: 1AA01113 Ser#: S1PVJ1xxxxxx
            Type: Hard Disk
            Supports 48-bit addressing
            Capacity: 953869.7 MB = 931.5 GB (1953525168 x 512)  Cheesy

-mount /dev/sda1 /mnt:

mount: special device /dev/sda1 does not exist  Sad

When I use the same disk on USB everything is working fine

The 2.6.34 kernel should have eSATA support

What is going wrong here?

I got it working now with kernel 2.6.33-3.
I will test it later with 2.6.33-4 and 2.6.34 to see what the difference is.
