I am fully aware that even after the shipment lands in the UK it may be days before Customs release it, something even the "All Knowing NewIT" as some would like, cannot predict  Wink

Speaking personally, what would be good is if you could send me an email the day you dispatch my order. That way I can make sure my brainless postperson doesn't leave the delivery on the doorstep too long providing opportunity for the local kids to pilfer it....
If such a system could be commissioned (if you don't already have it) during the interim period that would be great.

The situation is unchanged for the past week or so, in that we haven't received any recent information that suggests change or movement of our consignment.

Sorry guys but isn't this News: GuruPlug Servers - Due mid May! suggesting that there was some good "change or movement". Why have you suggested that if there was no progress...
And you still have not replied to my questions regarding the "mid May" date!

We have at your request changed the news banner to read May.

At the risk of repeating what has already been written, as soon as we have some news on the exected delivery date to ourselves we will post here.

well so far the date has shifted from early april to May sometime (perhaps, maybe, with a trailing wind..).

All this time NewIT have peoples money gaining interest in their bank.. are we going to get anything back for this (not holding my breath) ? Yes I know it's not your fault guys but come on really..

~LOL~

At current interest rates, the return on the price of a Guruplug would be in the region of 2 quid per annum (say 16p per month) .  I know NewIT hope to sell a lot of the little suckers, but you'd only have contributed 32p to their coffers so far, which isn't worth worrying about!

Oh well, nil desperandum, we're only just into the early part of the middle of May!

From http://plugcomputer.org/ I`m a little glad I haven`t got my Guruplug yet.

I sound like it`s not a good idea to be at the head of the queue in getting the Guruplug .
it`s not going to be a big loss waiting until the problems are sorted out and I get mine .

Why not read the rest of this post. It clearly explains that they are having problems caused by the ash cloud and the back log of flights that were cancelled because of it.

I myself am going to wait until things start moving before purchasing one as I think its pretty bad that they do take you money unlike all other pre-orders where they take it once its been dispatched.

Still give them a break its not their fault.

Well if it is because of the ash cloud, why they don't send in a container-ship?
Then we know for sure the shipment is on it's way (4-6 weeks delivery time).

The ash cloud could interupt for 2 years.

Maybe its only that some people report problems with the Guruplug (and have waiting for 3months)!
All together it sounds weird.

We spoke to Globalscale last night (05/05/10), they tell us that they are still trying to get our shipment from China to Hong Kong; this is then sent onto the UK by air.

With previous orders once we are informed that the shipment has left China and it normally takes about 7 days to get to us. But as I am sure most of us are aware of the continued disruption the volcano is causing the airlines, there maybe a small delay whilst they work through the backlog of freight being sent by air.

Is that pigeon still having problems?, when you start complaining just think of that poor old pigeon which as to fly from China every day with a Guruplug on its back.

Is NewIT even in business any more? Has somebody run away with my money? What's going on?

That is exactly what I'm wondering right now!
I did some research regarding the ash cloud and couldn't find anything saying that the ash cloud is causing problems with the flights between China and Hong-Kong. Isn't that a little bit too far from Iceland?

I order some gadgets from Hong Kong (DealExtreme) 2010-04-22, it left China (Hongkong Post) 2010-05-07 and arrived at my local postal office (Norway) 2010-05-11.

So it seems someone is able to ship.

I feel Globalscale is not telling NewIT (and us) the full truth.

As the rest of you, I'm looking forward to get this Gadget Smiley

We have received confirmation that the GuruPlug Servers are now in Hong Kong, it looks like they will be on a flight over to the UK on Tuesday.
Depending on what time they arrive on Tuesday, and how helpful HM Customs and Excise are, dictates how quickly we will get them to us.

If (which I am sure I will be) pushed for a delivery estimate to New IT, I would say we will see them on Friday morning, so we will have a very busy weekend packaging up units to be despatched on the following Monday (24/5/10).

We apologise for the prolonged delay in these arriving, and can assure you New IT were not to blame for the hold up on this order; in fact we paid for the order on the 22/02/10.

If anybody feels this is too late for them please email me jason@newit.co.uk and I will arrange the cancelation and refund of their order.
