This forum is intended as a public place for customers (or prospective customers) of New IT, for discussion of our products. Right now, this means primarily UK residents who are interested in the
SheevaPlug. There are other forums for discussion of the SheevaPlug, and we recognise the values of the communities that such sites create. It is not our intention to compete with or unnecessarily duplicate the content of such sites; however we expect there will be a significant amount of overlap between the information you may find in this forum and information that is available elsewhere.
In particular, we have found a lot of information that has helped us to learn from the following sites:
We support and encourage you to contribute to the above sites, but if you want to talk to us directly, to ask questions that are specific to our products, if you have ideas about projects that you would like us to get involved with, this is one place that you can do that.
If you have questions about how to use your SheevaPlug, please search this forum (and the sites mentioned above) for similar questions, and if you cannot find an answer please post your question in the appropriate board (we'll move it if we think it's in an inappropriate location). We encourage our customers to help one another, and although we will provide the support to which you are entitled, we cannot guarantee that we can provide all the answers that will enable you to complete your dream SheevaPlug project.
In the interests of maintining centralised repositories of information, when questions posted in this forum are best answered with information that is publicly available elsewhere, we expect to signpost that information. If our signposting does not provide the answers that you need, please explain as much as possible all symptoms and any actions you have taken to try to solve a problem. We will try to help you as soon as we are able.
We hope to be able to sustain a community that is interested in supporting our own SheevaPlug projects; watch the forums for announcements concerning our "official" projects. We also expect to post information about hardware that we have tested for compatibility with the SheevaPlug. We encourage you to use this space for discussing your own projects.
