Booting kernels 3.2 and later

If anyone is having trouble booting current kernels (hangs after the uncompress) on their DreamPlug and has an "old" version of U-Boot, please try the following.
CONFIG_EMBEDDED=y
# CONFIG_ARM_PATCH_PHYS_VIRT is not set
CONFIG_PHYS_OFFSET=0x0
This works around a U-Boot issue.
This allowed be to boot a current kernel without having to re-flash U-Boot.

Glad it has helped someone else.
I spent two evenings with a JTAG debugger and "git bisect" before I finally figured it out!

I wondered how you did it.
I notice that
www.xilka.com
has already adopted your change.
I have tested this on two different models of Dreamplug with 3.2.4 and it works OK.

To be fair, it is a "known" problem. It just wasn't known to me.
Once I figured out what the problem was, I found other references to it:
http://lists.denx.de/pipermail/u-boot/2012-February/117020.html
That's always how these things seem to work.
All I can do now is try to prevent other people hitting the same issue.
