Dreamplug power requirements are 5w.

Disabling Bluetooth & Wifi would further reduce power consumption (not sure by how much).  Need to get a Kill-a-watt to find the delta between Dreamplug standard configuration (wifi +bt on) vs. both of them turned off.

I was wondering if it is possible to further reduce Dreamplug power consumption to ~3w.  Does anyone have any recommendations to reduce power consumption by dreamplug to a minimum?

Some people have had trouble with slow clock speeds - turning it round, might you take advantage of this? Running slower (1/3 speed) might save some power.

According to this post there was a software fix to this problem. We discussed this issue with Globalscale prior to them sending us our Dreamplugs, so we didn't expect to be receiving any slow models.

I dug out the patch to enable CPU frequency scaling for the Dreamplug, but it doesn't seem to make any difference to the power consumption.
