Hi all!

I've ordered my SheevaPlug on 4th of December 2010, the model name is RD-88F6281-BPLUG-A. Now I'm trying to recover it using "SheevaPlug_USB-Recovery1.2.zip" package on the CD included.

I did everything before item 6 from the instruction "SheevaPlug Development Kit - USB Flash Recovery from U-Boot-Rev1.2.pdf". My last action was typing "rcvr" in the Uboot console.

Now plug stops during a boot on line "Uncompressing Linux.............. done, booting the kernel." I could not get a linux shell prompt still. Please advice any solution of how to go further… Thanks!

Here is booting log:

I don't want to use SheevaPlug Installer, I would like to use USB recovery procedure with Ubuntu 9.05 image included in the product package.
Is it compulsory to use Installer? Is USB recovery on the disk not usable?

P.S. My SheevaPlug is not bricked, I just want to return back to initial state of the OS and upgrade the U-boot to the latest version.

P.P.S. Manual you linked to is not up to date: item one says 'In the Alpha 6 section, click on "get tarball here"' - there is no such link in the Alpha 6 section. It looks like this manual has no idea about 1.0 release of Installer. I'm very sad that support of this excellent devices is so poor… Sad

Hi ulrith,

Try the documentation marked "Writing Jaunty Filesystem on the Nand Flash", this describes loading the Jaunty image from an NFS drive.

http://www.plugcomputer.org/downloads/plug-basic/index.html#distributions

I will post similar instructions describing how to do this using a usb stick next week.

Apologies for the reduced forum service this week due to unforseen circumstances and myself being away on holiday.

No! This documentation does not describe how to load the Jaunty image from an NFS drive! There is no such information and I could not find any appropriate manuals… Documentation mentioned describes only how to write the image to the NAND flash which is clear enough.

Please, provide me manual of how to load the Jaunty image from an NFS drive. Thank you.

Have you checked if this is an archNumber/machid issue ?

Edit: and the console needs to be set up on the kernel command line of course.
