Hello,

I bought a sheeva e-sata with an Ubuntu pre-installed.
Config : sheeva e-sata bought in October 2010 Model : 003-SP1001
I'm not an expert and I want to boot on a sd card (to easy backup the device)
Can somebody explain me how to :
- simply dump the NAND to the sd
- configure my sheeva to boot on the sd
- check if my sheeva booted wel on the sd

Thank you in advance.

There are plenty of guides for converting your Sheevaplug to boot from SD card. See here for starters (lots of links). Frankly, it is much simpler to start with a fresh O/S on an SD card (and probably better to go with Debian than Ubuntu).

Most methods of booting from SD card rewrite the NAND with a fresh O/S install, so if you have essential data on your NAND you must make sure that you make good backups first.
